Game Console Component Leads .

The Hi-Definition Packs were taken off the shelves in Australia shortly after the Launch in Australia of the Microsoft™ Xbox™ Console. In Japan and the USA -Xbox™ Consoles and televisions still support the Hi Definition Output and these adaptors are extremely popular amongst Gamers or DVD movie Buffs wanting the extra superb picture the Xbox™ consoles can offer.

Modded Xbox Consoles can output Progressive scan modes so these cables are well worth getting.

Xbox360 PS2 and Playstation 3 Gamecube and Nintendo Wii Consoles can output Progressive scan as well.

WHY USE HIGH DEFINITION

Many Game Developers are now able to extract better game graphics and resolutions with the newer consoles like Xbox™ and Playstation® 2 and Gamecube™ than ever before. Previously Standard Televisions could only output 640x480 resolutions but now with newer technology and High Resolution Televisions, Plasma Screens, Projectors etc these game Consoles can output games at well beyond the standard 640x480 resolution.

When used with Televisions or Plasma Screens, Projectors, Rear Projection TV that supports Component Video (Red Green Blue) The picture quality takes a leap forward on Games and Movies that are programmed with Progressive Scan and High Definition output.

...........COMMON CONSOLE CONNECTING CABLES:

• RF AERIAL - Allows Console to be connected by Standard Co-Ax on back of TV or VCR- These cables are not packaged with game consoles but are widely used for their ability to work on all TV sets but they are very Low Quality with regard to Picture and sound.

• AV or RCA - All Game Console Manufacturers package game units with these leads (Red Yellow White) they are able to be plugged directly into most televisions or VCR but are still Low Quality Output Leads. The Yellow is the Video Channel and the Red and White are the Left and Right Audio Channels for Stereo Sound. Only one audio lead need be plugged in as some TV are Mono Output and only have provision for one audio plug but this will mean the gamer may miss out on some sounds during gameplay.

• SVHS or SVIDEO -Svideo is a better quality Connection for Game Consoles and it is highly recommended that Gamers with these inputs on AMP or TV should purchase a dedicated High Quality SVideo Lead for use with the console to obtain better picture sharpness and colors. Important to note that the Australian Gamecube does not output SVideo only the NTSC Import Gamecube has support for this connector.

• SCART RGB - Scart is the name of the 21 Pin input to Many European Standard TV DVD VCR etc SCART RGB is a very high quality connector that carries Video and Sound Signal and if the TV supports Scart RGB the Gamer should purchase a dedicated SCART RGB Cable to obtain the high quality colors and resolution output- the use of AV to SCART Leads or Adaptors (as packaged with Xbox Consoles)only outputs AV RCA Quality. The Australian PS2 does not output RGB without modification only the NTSC Import PS2 has support for this connector. A green screen effect is noted when using RGB Scart on Australian PS2 Consoles unless an RGB Fix mod is performed.

• COMPONENT VIDEO - When Games and Movies are programmed using this technology it has by far the best picture quality. The Cables consist of Red Green Blue leads for video output and Red and White Leads for Stereo Audio Output. But Games and movies that do not support Hi definition in some cases may look worse than when using SVideo leads as many more Graphic imperfections are more noticible.
